In the manufacturing process, the EI core is mainly composed of silicon steel sheet. To a certain extent, in order to reduce the eddy current, the sheet has a certain insulation resistance between the sheets. When the EI core is used, the inter-sheet capacitance is extremely large and it is in an alternating state. The electric field can be regarded as a path, mainly because the iron core needs only one point of grounding to clamp the whole lamination of the laminations to the ground potential.

The main magnetic circuit part of the EI core transformer is usually made of a stack of hot-rolled or cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with a high silicon content and a surface coated with insulating paint during operation. The coil wound on it constitutes a complete electromagnetic induction system, and the power transmission power of the power transformer depends to a certain extent on the material and the cross-sectional area of the core.

To a certain extent, if the EI core is set to a certain extent, an iron yoke clip grounding lead wire is generated to a certain extent, if the iron core touches the upper clamp element, the multi-point grounding fault occurs, and the grounding current is only inside the iron core clamp. Flow, there is no current flowing through the core grounding lead wire, which will cause the worker to mistakenly believe that the iron core has not failed. After setting, no matter where the iron core touches the clamp member, the circuit will be formed by two grounding external leads. It can also correctly detect the ground current.

The placement of the EI core to a certain extent, regardless of where the iron yoke pulls the insulating bolts and the location of the fault grounding point, the maximum induced voltage of the loop is only 1/4 of the helium voltage, and the maximum ground current at this time is only Several amperes are much smaller when placed in other locations than the core grounding plate.

If the EI core needs to be placed in other positions due to inconvenient on-site installation, etc., the insulating bolts of the iron yoke puller should be placed diagonally to the grounding plate to prevent large currents.

The primary of the EI core still has a certain current, and this part of the current is called the no-load current to some extent. The no-load current consists of a magnetizing current (flux producing) and an iron loss current (caused by the core loss). For a 50Hz power transformer, the no-load current is substantially equal to the magnetizing current.
