What are the advantages of cold rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel compared to hot rolled silicon steel?

Silicon steel sheet is an indispensable low-carbon ferrosilicon in the power, electronics and military industries, while cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel is a silicon steel sheet with a non-oriented deformed textured crystal structure according to a certain production process. There are still some differences between silicon steel sheets.

 

With the innovation of electrical steel technology, its advantages have become more and more obvious. In addition to the advantage of price competitiveness of cold-rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel coils, its quality is unmatched by hot-rolled silicon steel. First of all, cold-rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel has a coating on the surface, good insulation performance, surface finish and flatness are better than hot rolling, while hot-rolled silicon steel sheet is uncoated, not year-on-year.

 

Secondly, cold-rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel is infinite length of coil material, hot rolling is flat plate, and the comprehensive utilization of cold rolling is obviously better than hot rolling. The whole plate "same plate difference" cold rolling is only below 10μ, and hot rolling is not achieved. Therefore, in general, the quality of cold-rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel is better than hot rolling. The replacement of hot-rolled silicon steel sheets by cold-rolled non-oriented electrical silicon steel has gradually become a market trend. The addition of silicon increases the electrical resistivity and maximum magnetic permeability of iron, reduces coercivity, core loss and magnetic aging, and is mainly used as the core of various motors, generators and transformers.
